How We Started
Kenyan Kids began in 2010, following Julie’s first visit to a small rural village in Kenya where she encountered young children left alone during the day while their widowed mothers searched for food and work.
What began as a simple feeding programme in response to immediate need quickly grew into a crèche and then a nursery school, offering care, stability and early education to children in the community.
That first project marked the beginning of a much wider journey. Since 2010, Kenyan Kids has gone on to support and develop a number of initiatives across different regions of Kenya, each shaped by local need and a shared commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children.
Today, the original school remains an important part of our story, but it is now one of several projects that continue to grow and evolve.
This journey is still unfolding. Each project builds on the last, and every step forward is shaped by the communities we work alongside. We invite you to follow our story as it continues to develop, and to be part of what comes next.
Our purpose remains the same: to support children, strengthen communities and create lasting change.
